Born and raised right here in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Kristen Hendrickson has deep roots in the community she now serves as a dedicated veterinarian and small business owner. From a young age, she dreamed of opening her own privately owned veterinary practice in her hometown, a dream she proudly brings to life each day at her family-run clinic.
Dr. Hendrickson earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University (Hail State!), where she found her passion for both surgery and internal medicine. She is deeply committed to clinical excellence and continuing education to remain current with advancements in modern veterinary medicine. Her clinical expertise, paired with her warm, personalized approach to care, reflects her commitment to treating every pet like family.
Dr. Hendrickson comes from a family with deep musical roots, a legacy that helped inspire the design and personality of the clinic. Named The Nations Animal Hospital as an ode to the vibrant neighborhood it’s rooted in, the clinic was thoughtfully created to combine Nashville’s creative, local identity with exceptional veterinary medicine. From the branding to the atmosphere, every detail reflects her love for Nashville’s community culture.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hendrickson cherishes time with her partner, Zack, their daughter, Ophelia, and their two beloved dogs, Farrah and Leo. When she’s not at work, you’ll often find her skiing out west, exploring new corners of Nashville’s ever-evolving food scene, or enjoying quiet moments with her family.
At the heart of Dr. Hendrickson’s work is a genuine love for the people and pets of Nashville. Her mission is to provide exceptional, compassionate veterinary care while building lasting relationships within the community that shaped her.
